How to shutdown Vista using the keyboard
I was trying to find a way to shutdown Windows Vista using only the keyboard and had the problem that the method known from Windows XP was not working in Vista anymore. It remains a mystery to me why Microsoft decided to change this and remove the keyboard shortcut to shutdown in Windows Vista.
There is however still a way. It is not really a shortcut but a combination of keys that lead to the shutdown button. To shutdown Windows Vista hit the Windows button, press left, press right and hit enter. Sounds simple enough does not it ?

Or, you can do it the easy way.
hit windows key+r.
type
“shutdown -r -t 00″
this command will restart your computer. do it without the -r to shutdown.
take a look in the settings for this command (shutdown -?) its an awsome command to learn. if you have multiple home PC’s you can send the shutdown command to any machine on your network with this simple command.
